WOW. Just wow!
Mr. Landlord
Dance Of Mr. Grumble
Wake Up
Manipulator
…well, actually whole album.
Nice! upbeat and somewhat sad moods mixed up with dance beats and organs. Most likely the best alternative dance album off 2008
Feel The Love
Lights And Music
Unforgettable Season
Hearts On Fire
Strangers In The Wind
Every song. They’re very similar, even sharing Goa-esque scales, but if I’d have to select a few, they’ll be:
Never Ever Land
Spaniard
B.P. Empire
Dancing with Kadafi
I can only praise this multilayered polyphonic chiptune arrangement. I’m so in love with the extensive use of vibrattos and bendings for Michael’s voiceline…
Oh, and fuck that stop near the end, what the heck did happen?
Defining a genre, that’s what they did. You cannot help but be driven into a groovy yet calmful trip of basses and soft melodies…
It could be sweet
Amour, Imagination, Rêve. They couldn’t have choiced a better name for this band.
The bass-lines mixed with the jazzy keyboards, both present and driving every song, define the atmospheric, rainy and sexy sound of the group.
This is what drives me to think the way they compose the songs: Godin with the bass guitar, Dunckel with a keyboard, a rainy parisian evening, and everything with a sepia-tone filter.
Only the last two songs (california and brake on), both of which were not present in the original release and were latter added on regular releases, are out of place. Its fast paced and happy-go-lucky feeling have nothing to do with the rest of the work. They feel awkwardly out of place.
I’m not very into noise music. I usually find it annoying. But I know it is just a matter of time, so I’m working on it.
Having that in mind, I considered I’d like the most the less noise-driven ones.
Sweet Love for Planet Earth
Bright Tomorrow
The last one was an exception. You get your ear easily used to the base noise, making it feel subtle, filling and melodic. After that, it is just drone magnificiency mixed with tribal rhythms and despair yellings. Special mention of those dream-evoking monkey orgasmic screams.
Colours Move.
This is one of those albums that grows. It fucking grows.
